Waste collection and recycling is organised by West Berkshire Council via their contractors Veolia. Black bins (general waste) and items for recycling (paper & cardboard, plastic bottles & cans, glass bottles, garden waste in green bins) are collected on the same weekday in alternate weeks. Food waste is collected every week and should be left out in the green caddy provided. Please note that there is an annual charge (currently £52) for the collection of garden waste; householders who have paid this charge should affix their annual sticker to the green bin.
Large and small household items may also be taken for recycling to the Recycling Centre in Newtown Road. You will need to apply for an online permit, giving details of the registration number(s) of the car(s) you will be using when visiting the Recycling Centre. Details of opening hours are here.
