The Village Hall is a registered charity, located in Love Lane in the centre of Shaw-cum-Donnington and provides a valuable resource for the local community. The hall, which has a small kitchen with basic facilities, can seat up to 100 people around small tables. Current regular hirers include The Women’s Institute, the Parish Council and The Gardening Club, as well as the local Primary School and Pre-School. A defibrillator is located outside the Village Hall and is available 24/7 for emergencies (when directed to by 999 Services).
The hall can be hired by the hour for one-off events and special occasions – Sunday afternoons are popular for Christenings and children’s birthday parties! Follow this link for current rates.

Hall Hire Charges for Events
Deposit (refundable):
- Events where alcohol is consumed – £250.00
- Events for teenagers (13-17 years old) – £175.00
- Other events – £100.00
Hire Charge (hourly):
1st April 2025 – 31st March 2026 – £21.00 per hour
(duration of hire to include a chargeable period of one hour for set-up and clear-up)
Cancellation Fee:
For bookings cancelled within two (2) weeks of event date, the deposit will be refunded in full and a charge of 50% of the hire charge will be made for administration and lost booking.
Last Minute Booking:
The Management Committee reserves the right to decline a booking that is requested at very short notice, to allow for administration time and advance notice for the Caretaker and Cleaner. For any booking, all necessary paperwork is to be returned to the Booking Clerk and full payment made by bank transfer, no later than two (2) weeks prior to the date of an event.
