Closure of Shaw Road, Shaw Hill and Long Lane, on 4, 5 and 6 October

Shaw Road, Shaw Hill and Long Lane in the Parish of Shaw Cum Donnington and the Town of Newbury will be closed from the 4th – 6th October October 2023, from the hours of 09:30 – 15:30, from its’ junctions with Robin Hood Roundabout to junction of Fishers Lane. This closure is to enable Volker Highways to carry out routine gully cleansing on behalf of West Berkshire Council.

The works will be completed in the following sections:

Section 1 – Robin Hood Roundabout to Kiln Road

Section 2 – Love Lane to Kiln Road

Section 3 – Fishers Lane to Love Lane

Diversion will be signed on-site.

In the morning is the Parish Council and Primary School joint event on Donnington Recreation Ground (10.30am – 1.30pm) followed in the afternoon by Shaw-cum-Donnington Gardening Club’s Village Garden Show (doors open 2pm-4pm).

Long Lane Road Closure Cancelled

The planned closure of Long Lane between 21 August and 3 September has been cancelled by the contractors due to a lack of resources available to complete the works in the timescale planned.

Closure of Castle Lane, Donnington, 21-23 August 2023

Castle Lane in the Parish of Shaw Cum Donnington will be closed from the 21st – 23rd August 2023, between the hours of 08:00 – 17:00, from the junction of B4494 Oxford Road to property known as The Cottage. This closure is to enable Volker Highways to carry out resurfacing work to the carriageway on behalf of West Berkshire Council.

The work will be completed in two sections to maintain access across Shop Lane junctions.
